embracing the friction
Well, it’s been a bad week for the paravane household. But let’s just skip past all that and get to the good stuff. I know I want to! Over at Embracing the Friction, Brandon took a post title idea from me and just completely missed my point. So what if he had a good point? It wasn’t mine! So, I’ll just hijack it back. After the break. (grin)
it’s been interesting
times up
“You hurled me into the deep, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me.”
Personally, I would have chosen to at least try. Maybe you can still avoid the scattering. With God, nothing is ever impossible. Or so I’ve been told.
jimmy paravane and the micro-mission memory
Wow, it’s Monday, 11am already. It’s going to take me several hours all this week to redo anything “short of sin parts 3-5″. Unfortunately, I have chores to do as well. Research, Doctor’s offices, house cleaning. Not to mention that I have to catch my other blog up on it’s stuff. What to do…I know! Story time! (grin) How about jimmy paravane and the micro-mission memory! Here it comes….more after the break.
anything short of sin part 3 missing
For reasons that might or might not be apparent, I’ve decided to skip over the “The Elephant in the Room“-ish part 3 of this series. It’s possibly too close to home for my “agenda”. I’ll try to make my point by using a “source” of aliens a little further a way from home. I mean, some of you know where I live. (grin)
Heck, let’s just take a breather from the series. This is so Aaron Havens guest blogger(Jonathan Almanzar) of me. What? I’m just milking my fleeting fame! robbymac commented on my blog! I’m famous! (grin)
Speaking of which, a guest blogger on Aaron Havens blog credits me with his skipping an ENTIRE segment of his series, and gets 30 freaking comments! Arrgh! What do I have to do to get you people to comment on my blog? Oh come on! I’m not that scary. Am I? (grin)
OK, I’m clueless. What do you think? Passive Aggressive? Manipulative? Just milking it while the whey is practically dripping off the curds? All 3? Comment already! (grin)
anything short of sin – part 2
I like “You gotta earn the right to be heard” a lot better, but that’s just me. The picture that goes with this “George-ism” reminds me of my youthful experiences with Christianity, when I unsuccessfully had the demon of coffee drinking cast out of me. Oh come on! Look at the picture, read that statement again and tell me it’s not funny! And y’all think the Vineyard movement was “out there”. I’ll match my experiences with the “Us 4 and no more” brand of southeast Texas charismatic-ism against Vineyard hippies any day. (grin) Yes, that maniacal looking person hovering over a cup of coffee is George Mercado. As far as I can tell, he came up with “anything short of sin”. Why do I think that? More after the break. (grin)
anything short of sin – part 1
I found out that my boy Dexter is making it to prime time. That’s right baby! CBS! The big time! Which is kind of interesting because Dexter is a different kind of protagonist AKA the good guy. Dexter has an interesting quirk, and this is what the show is supposedly about. Dexter is a psychopath: n. A person with an antisocial personality disorder, manifested in aggressive, perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior without empathy or remorse. Nevertheless, Dexter is on the side of the angels. His basic code to control his quirk and turn it into a force for good and not evil? Well, you might say it’s “anything short of sin”. More after the break. Oh come on. You had to know it was coming. (grin)
Is it just me? update
I may have to create an update post that I can stamp in here automatically when I get sick and can’t follow up on the post I said I would post the day before (frown). Anyway, I spent the day in bed asleep because I got sick. So I couldn’t finish the post I said I would post today yesterday in “Is it just me?”. Now that I’m up and feeling a little better, I get to do chores like clean house and cook dinner. Hmm…that whole Acts:29 thing may have a point…”What’s that honey? No, you didn’t sense a rebellion in the pecking order. I’m just blogging”. One last point before I close; don’t get old. You get sick easier and more often. Free advice.
Sorry. I hope to be able to publish it tomorrow. That is all. Now you may all wail about not getting to read it today. (grin)
Is it just me?
OK, just when I’m ready to give all this up and go read between bouts of fear and depression, you aliens stir the pot up? I’m supposed to be the pot stirrer! Go check out all the usual suspects, after the break.

the kindness of strangers
“Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers.”-Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire.
Unlike Blanche DuBois, I can be deliberately cruel. I didn’t actually know that consciously until I looked up the sentence fragment I used for this post title. Blanche says; “Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers.” I thought it was fitting because last week I was feeling both relieved and ambivalent. I suddenly found myself dependent on the kindness of strangers. More stuff after the break.
